Garden and Industry wording

Last updated 2026-08-06

Why two voices?

Leefy’s default voice is Garden growth language (tree, season, flower, fruit). It helps non-technical people reason about structure without project-management jargon.

Some people prefer Industry / Standard labels (project, phase, approved, deliverable). You can switch any time in Settings → Terminology. Your data does not change — only the words on buttons and labels.

Older help articles may still use Garden words. This page is the bridge.

How do I switch?

  1. Open Settings (account menu or command palette: “Settings”).
  2. Under Terminology, pick Garden growth or Industry / Standard.
  3. Optionally set Language (English or Español) in the same panel.

Preference is saved for your account when you are signed in.

Words that must not be mixed up

  • Flower / Approved is not the same as an Artifact. An artifact is a file or doc on a node. A flower means “we agree what this node is.”
  • Fruit / Deliverable requires a real artifact — the product will not claim “delivered” without one.
  • Archive (not prune) is the safe remove for work you might restore. “Prune” only appears as optional AI cleanup language in Garden voice.

Seasons and phases in the app

Under the hood the product still stores phase ids. In Garden voice you only ever see Season. In Industry voice you only ever see Phase. Both refer to the same lineup you edit in Settings.

Language (Español)

Settings → Language → Español translates product labels (and Spanish Industry wording uses fase, entregable, proyecto, etc.). Help articles on this site are still English for now — use this glossary when a guide’s Garden English does not match your UI.
